The winery has own vineyard area of 100 acres in the region. With love and great care we cultivate the traditional for the area grape varieties such as: Wide Melnik grape vine, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Muscat Ottonel and Sandanski Misket.
Wide Melnik grape
Wide Melnik grape is a red wine grape variety, widespread mainly in the region of Petrich and Sandanski. The variety is late maturing. Grape harvest is in the first half of October, but sometimes later. The main requirements for achieving high quality varieties are: high temperature sum during the growing season of spring, hot summer; long, warm, dry autumn and relatively mild and warm winters. Wine, made of Broad-leaved has a specific character and flavors and it is distinguished from other varieties of wines. The color of the typical of Broad-leaved is not ink black, but rather transparent ruby to dark purple.
Cabernet Sauvignon is the most popular in the world red wine grape variety, originally planted in region of Bordeaux, France. In Bulgaria, Cabernet Sauvignon is the first among the varieties of red wines and it is grown mainly in the North, South and South West wine regions. The grapes ripen in the first half of September and it is used for the production of high quality red varietals and coupage wines. The wines of this variety are characterized by intense dark red color, good density and intense aromas of small red fruits.
Merlot is a high quality wine grape variety, originally planted in the region of France. It is widespread in wine regions, including Bulgaria. In our country it is widespread mainly in the southern wine region. It is characterized by intense red color, fullness, and harmony of flavor and rich bouquet. Mature Wines are characterized by powerful complex flavor, which includes the nuances of oak, candied fruits, smoke and truffles.
Syrah is a red wine grape variety; the name is derived from Shiraz, the capital of Fars, a province of Iran. It ripens relatively early in Bulgaria – mid-August. It is used for the production of high quality red varietals, coupage wines and rosé. Young wines have tones of violets, exotic flowers, smoke, rosemary, thyme, raspberry, blueberry and cassis. The wines are characterized by very dense garnet color with purple nuances and high density. Have great potential for aging.
Cabernet Franc is a red wine grape variety originating from France. A medium to late maturing variety. It is used to make table, fortified and dessert wines and juices. Varietal wines are with pale red color with aromas of raspberries, blackberries, currants, blueberries, and as wines age longer can be feel spices and musk. It is also used for making coupage wines.
Sandanski Misket is white wine grape variety and it was created by the method hybridization: by a crossing the varieties – broad leaved vine, Tamianka and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is recognized and approved as a new and original grape variety in 1979 and it can be found near Sandanski and Petrich region. Sandanski Misket is medium-maturing variety. Misket Sandanski reaches technological maturity during the first half of September. The wines of this variety are characterized by intense floral fruity aroma with marked notes of citrus and tropical fruits.
Muscat Ottonel is a white wine grape variety selected in the town of Angers, France.Early wine and dessert variety ripens in late August. Dry white wines made from this variety are of high quality, with a very intense flavor and a flowery character, reminiscent of violets and geranium, with considerable density and moderate freshness. The wines are consumed young.
Keratsuda is a local wine grape variety, widespread mainly in Southwestern Bulgaria. Late ripening variety. Grapes ripen late September. It is used for white table wine (with a pleasant taste and distinctive aroma) production.
